Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with water.

Emergency measure - Skin: Flush with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbin dioxide, foam, dry powder or fine water spray. Water

can be used to cool fire exposed containers.

Product arising from burning: Silica, carbon oxides and traces of incompletely burned

carbon compounds. Formaldehyde.Toxic vapours of fluorinated

compounds. Hydrogen fluoride (HF).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained respirator and protective clothing should

be worn. Keep containers cool with water spray until well

after the fire is out. Determine the need to evacuate or

isolate the area according to local emergency plan.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Prevent from spreading or enterning into drains, ditches or

rivers by using sand, earth or other appropriate barriers.

Determine the need to evacuate or isolate the area according

to your local emergency plan. Very large spills should be

contained by bunding, etc....procedures. Mop, wipe or soak

up with absorbent material and place in a container with a

lod. The spilled products produced an extremely slippery

surface.

Handling and storage

Handling: All working methods must always be designed so that exposure

by inhalation of the substance is minimized. Skin and eye

contact with the substance should be avoided. As far as

possible, closed, or at least dustproof, equipment should be

used during filling, transfer and metered feeding as well as

during sampling. In the case of handling in open systems,

any vapours that can form should be extracted directly at

the point of origin. If technical extraction or ventilation

measures are not possible or are insufficient, respiratory

protection (e.g. :::) should be worn. To avoid skin contact,

the wearing of tested protective gloves (e.g. :::) and, if

applicable, suitable protective clothing (e.g. :::) is

recommended.

Storage: Do not store with oxidizing agents. Vapours may form

explosive mixtures with air.

Keep containers tightly closed and secure against falling.

Avoid product residues on the packing drums.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: No unsuitable packaging materials known.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Toxic vapours are evolved. vapours may form explosive

mixtures with air.

Chemical reaction with water: this substance hydrolyses in water, releasing methanol.

Dust explosion: N. A.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable: this new substance will hydrolyses quickly

into a polymeric material. In such way, the silane is not

available anymore. Methanol is however formed from the

polymerisation process.

Code 610:

Recovery, not specified.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: This new substance hydrolyses quickly into a polymeric

material. In such way, the silane is not available anymore.

Methanol is however formed from the polymerisation process.

Code 633:

Neutralisation by water treatment

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Do nto allow large quantities to enter drains or surface

water.

Code 650:

Removal by controlled dumpng at a licensed landfill.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Can be incinerated according to local regualtions.

Code 660:

Incinerate, not specified.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Do not allow large quanitities to enter drains and surface

water.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.
