Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If inhaled remove person from affected area and seek medical

treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immiediately wash eyes with clean, fresh water for at least

15 minutes and seek medical treatment.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash area with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation

occurs seek medical diagnosis and treatment.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Wash mouth out with plenty of water.

Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, powder, carbon dioxide extinguishing agen

t.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon and oxides of nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighting personnel should wear appropriate protective

equipment (gloves and mask at quenching).

Use self-feeding respiratory apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: The substance is not considered to diffuse out as the

preparation which contains the substance is solid. Gloves

should be worn when handling the 'spillage'.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handling of the photopolymer plate, which contains the

substance, should be conducted with rubber or Viton

protective gloves. Since organic solvent is used at the wash

out process, organic solvent resistant protective gloves

should be worn.

Storage: The photopolymer plate containing the substance should be

stored at room temperature (about 25 degrees celsius)

avoiding direct sunlight and ultraviolet light.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Packaging material: cardboard box, polyethylene sheet.

Cover Sheet: Polyester

The preparation containing the substance is in sheet form

and provided as a predetermined size. The package of the

sheet [preparation containg the substance] is usually a

cardboard box.

The cardboard box may conatin a variable number of sheet

products. Between each sheet product a polyethylene filler

sheet is inserted.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None Known

Chemical reaction with water: None known

Dust explosion: Under normal conditions of use this material does not

present a significant explosion hazard as it is imported

into the EU as a monomer in a solid photopolymer layer

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from

minor spillages or accidental discharge is not technically

feasible, and such waste will be disposed of by incineration

.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise hazardous

human or environmental properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal methods of the substance include either

incineration or being reclaimed according to the EU nations

or local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to

the sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable
