HiTEC 7134 is an organic UVCB substance with a red to yellow colour and a fatty acid odour. The test substance does not have a true melting point, it undergoes a glass transition with midpoint = 33.5 ºC (onset 31.1 ºC) and does not possess a boiling point, since it decomposes before boiling. The density of HiTEC 7134 is quite similar to the water density, 0.9715 g/cm3and the vapour pressure of 0.00002 Pa at 25 °C, indicates low affinity to the air compartment. The log Pow of the substance is within a range of 6.4-7.6 demonstrating a high tendency to adsorb to organic matter in soils, sediments or sludge, which is further corroborated by the water solubility value of 1 mg/L. The flash point of HiTEC 7134 is 92 °C and is considered to be a non-flammable substance and a non-oxidising liquid.
