First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove exposed person to fresh air if adverse effects are

observed. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical

attention if eye irritation develops or persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if

irritation develops. Launder contaminated clothing before

reuse.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Get immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur together with some ammonia and some

soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Ventilate the

spill area. Prevent entry into sewers and waterways. Pick up

free liquid for recycling or disposal. Residual liquid can

be adsorbed on inert material.

Handling and storage

Handling: Obbserve the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Protective clothing, safety glasses and cotton or

leather gloves should be worn. Ensure adequate ventilation.

An approved disposable dust/mist mask may be required. Wash

thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Store at ambient temperatures in sealed containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The aqueous solution may be collected, filtered and reused.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal to landfill according to local reulations is

possible. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at a suitable facility using waste gas scrubbers

to remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur. (A660)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Paint products containing the substance in a polymerised

form should be disposed of at a suitable facility.
