First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

General advice

If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible).

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air immediately. Get medical attention immediately.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. If skin

irritation occurs: Get medical advice/ attention.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician if

irritation develops or persists.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Consult a physician if necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Extinguishing media : Carbon dioxide (CO2);  Water mist;  Dry chemical;  Foam; Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Unsuitable extinguishing media : High volume water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Burning produces noxious and toxic fumes., carbon oxides (COx), Carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Special protective actions for fire-fighters

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Specific matters:

Not flammable but combustible.

In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Hand protection

Glove material: PVC

Glove material: Polyethylene

Glove material: Protective gloves complying with EN 374., Please observe the instructions regarding

permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into

consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts,

abrasion, and the contact time.

Eye protection

Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166

Skin and body protection

Full protective suit

Environmental precautions

Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Shovel into suitable container for disposal. After cleaning, flush away traces with water.

Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist.

Provide adequate ventilation.

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Do not eat, drink, smoke or take drugs.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from sources of ignition - No

smoking.

Prevent the static electricity of handling devices by earthing.

Materials to avoid:  Strong oxidizing agents, Acids

Storage stability: Store in original container.

Specific end uses: Drilling applications

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and

immediately after handling the product. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Ensure that eyewash stations

and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection

If significant amounts of vapour, mist or aerosol are present use respiratory protection. (filter P3)

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

None reasonably foreseeable.

Chemical stability

Hazardous reactions : Hazardous polymerisation does not occur.

Conditions to avoid

Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Materials to avoid : Strong oxidizing agents, acids

Hazardous decomposition products

No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Thermal decomposition : Note: Thermal decomposition can lead to release of irritating gases and vapours., nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon oxides

Disposal considerations

Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations. Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.
