Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

There are no data for polyglycerine. A toxicokinetic study has not been conducted on glycerine. However, glycerine is considered a primordial biomolecule found in all species of living organisms. It is a building block for lipid synthesis and one of the end products of lipid metabolism. Glycerine is also one of the degradation products of glucose metabolism. Toxicokinetic studies have been conducted on polyglycerine polyricinoleate (PGPR) which has been shown to be metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract yielding diglycerine, triglycerine and higher MW glycerine (called Polyglycerine-Heavy in Justification document). Di- and triglycerine are absorbed and excreted unchanged in the urine while the higher MW, by way of increasing number of repeat units of glycerines are not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and excreted unchanged in the feces.
