Based on the known chemical and physical properties of the substance and experience in use, negative results are predicted for the following flammability tests of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC, so it is considered justified to omit them: A.12 (Flammability in contact with water) & A.13 (Pyrophoric properties of solids and liquids).

Based on the flash point of 22 degrees C and a boiling point of 102 degrees C for ethylmethylcarbonate, the classification of ethylmethylcarbonate is determined as:
