Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One study investigating the short-term toxicity to earthworm of Dibutyl adipate (CAS 105-99-7) is available. The study was performed as a limit test according to OECD guideline 207 and GLP (Moser, 2013). The test organism Eisenia fetida was exposed to the test substance in artificial soil for 14 days, at the nominal test concentration 1000 mg/kg. No mortality occurred during the test period. Hence, Dibutyl adipate (CAS 105-99-7) is not expected to have effects on soil macroorganisms.

Further, studies on the short term toxicity to earthworm, available for the category PFAE linear, support the assumption of expected negligible effects to terrestrial organisms with LC50 values for earthworm well above 100 mg/kg soil dw (i.e. LC50 (14d) 865 and 1000 mg/kg for Bis(ethylhexyl) adipate CAS 103-23-1 and Bis(tridecyl) adipate CAS 16958-92-2, respectively)
