PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
Due to the sparingly soluble properties of the test item, the study was performed with the water accommodated fraction (WAF) prepared according to the OECD Series on Testing and Assessment Number 23: "Guidance Document on Aquatic Toxicity of Difficult Substances and Mixtures": The WAF was prepared with M4-Medium. The WAF was stirred for 48h at 20 - 21°C in diffuse light. For stirring an overhead high grade stainless steel radial impeller was used (about 450 rpm). The impeller was placed about 7 cm above the bottom of the beaker. After stirring was stopped, the suspension was allowed to float and sediment for a period of 1 hour. After stopping the stirring the WAF was slightly turbid, but after sedimentation and flotation period it was clear and no particles could be observed anymore.

- Effect concentrations exceeding solubility of substance in test medium: The data provided from the sponsor indicated a water solubility of the test item of about 1.4 mg/L. In the WAFS after 48 hours stirring the measured DOC was in the range of the limit of quantifiction . The test item is poorly soluble in the test medium under test conditions.
