Description of key information

Additional information

The submission substance was determined to be not readily biodegradable in the Modified Sturm Test (according to OECD 301B and compliant to GLP, RL1). The activity of the test system was demonstrated using sodium benzoate as functional control. The mean biodegradation (replicates) for the submission substance did not exceed 3 % until day 28. A toxicity control containing both test and reference item demonstrated that the submission substance was not toxic to activated sludge microorganisms, which is in agreement with the results from the activated sludge respiration inhibition test available (see respective section).

Thus, the submission substance is considered to be not readily biodegradable, and no further relevant information could be expected from additional testing (no further tests available).
