Considering the origin of CarboNeXT and its components, the material is not expected to degrade neither by biotic nor abiotic pathways. Indeed it is mainly composed of plastics, not biodegradable, and paper, deriving from non hazardous solid urban wastes. Although environmental emissions are not foreseen, the material, if released into the environment, is not expected to be toxic for aquatic organisms.
