Adsorption / desorption:

The calculated adsorption coefficients (log Koc) of constituents are ≥ 5.6 (dimensionless) which is in agreement with measured data for Distillates (Fischer-Tropsch), C8-26, branched and linear (log Koc>5.6). Adsorption coefficients for individual constituents have been calculated.


Volatilisation is dependent on Henry's Constant (HLC) which is not applicable to complex substances. The HLC values for individual constituents have been calculated.

Standard tests for atmospheric oxidation half-lives are intended for single substances and are not appropriate for these complex substances. However, this endpoint is characterized using quantitative structure property relationships for representative hydrocarbon structures that comprise the hydrocarbon blocks used to assess the environmental risk of these substances with the PETRORISK model (see library tab in PETRORISK spreadsheet attached to IUCLID section 13).

Transport and distribution:

The distribution of the substance in the environmental compartments, air, water, soil, and sediment, has been calculated using the PETRORISK Model, version 7.04. Based on the regional scale exposure assessment, the multimedia distribution of Hydrocarbons, C18-C24, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics is 0.13% to air, 0.05 % to water, 5.95 % to soil and 94% to sediment. Distribution modelling results are included in the 'Multimedia distribution modelling results' tab in the PETRORISK spreadsheet attached to IUCLID section 13.
