PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance was found to be readily biodegradable fulfilling the 10-day window criterion in a valid screening study. It is considered not persistent and not very persistent in the environment. The log Kow = 1.66 indicates the low potential for bioaccumulation. The substance is considered not bioaccumulative and not very bioaccumulative. On the basis of the available toxicity data it cannot be concluded if the substance fulfils the T criteria. Since the substance does not meet the criteria for P, vP, B and vB it is concluded that it is not PBT and not vPvB.

Likely routes of exposure:

The substance is used as transported, isolated intermediate under strictly controlled conditions in a non-solid form. Exposure may occur only in the case of accident mainly via the dermal route due to the low vapour pressure of the substance.
