Additional information

Octanal showed 75% degradation after 28 days. The 10-day window criterion was also fulfilled. Therefore the substance is considered to be readily biodegradable. This result indicates that the substance will be quickly degraded and does not persist in the environment.

The bioconcentration factor was calculated by QSAR to be 94.69 L/kg ww, which indicates that this substance does not have any significant potential for bioaccumulation.

The adsorption coefficient for octanal was determined by a weight of evidence approach with read across substances and a QSAR estimation. The Koc value of 428.3 L/kg indicates that the substance will be of medium mobility in soil and will in part bind to sediment and particles within the water column.
