Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flashpoint (-18 ˚C) and the boiling point (87.3 ˚C), TAME has to be classified as highly flammable (F; R11) according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC. According to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 it has to be classified as a Flammable Liquid Cat. 2 (H225).

Based on the proposed read-across approach, this classification does also apply for C5-6 branched alkylmethyl-ethers.
