Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: In case of excessive inhalation remove the person to the

fresh air and keep at rest in a comfortable position. Obtain

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately rinse eyes with plenty of water. Oobtain medical

advice immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash of skin with plenty of soap and water if available. If

any signs of irritation is apparent obtain medical advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with plenty of water. Drink a glass / cup of

water or milk. Do not inducevomiting. obtain medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, dry chemical and CO2

Product arising from burning: depending on the oxygen supply Co,  CO2, soot and smoke

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: No special protective equipment required.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Small and large spillages should be swept up very carefully

so as not to create dust. The recovered solid should be

transferred to a suitable container and recovered or

disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable gloves and

eye protection. Avoid sources of ignition.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: If spilt supravanil could be recovered by carefully sweeping

the solid into a suitable container without creating dust,

and then re-crystallising the material.

If a fragrance containing Supravanil is spilt recovery would

be very difficult as it is would be part of a

multi-component mixture.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Supravanil is classified as Harmful if swallowed, irritating

ti skin and eyes and it may cause sensitisation by skin

contact. Thus suitable protective clothing should be worn

when handling this material. Washing with soap and water

should neutraliseany effects from accidental skin contact.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Supravanil is not readily biodegradable but is inherently

biodegradable. Thus this material should not be flushed to

the drains.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Supravanil should be safe to dispose of by incineration as

no hazardous combustion products are expected.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: When incorporated into fragrances or final consumer products

there is little possibility of recovering this material.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: As Supravanil will be used in products intended for use by

the general public it should be utilised in such a way as to

eliminate its potential for skin sensitisation. Any product

containing Supravanil at a level of >1% should be clearly

marked as a skin semsitiser.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Consumer products will only contain low levels of supravanil

and should thus be suitable for land fill disposal.

depending on the nature of the consumer product, flushinh to

the drians with plenty of water should not pose any risk to

the environment.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: depending on the nature of the consumer product,

incineration is the preferred method of disposal for

Supravanil.
