Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air; in case of indisposition
seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water; if irritation occurs, seek
medical advice
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment; in case of indisposition seek medical
advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and
sulfuroxides as well as sodium and chlorinated derivatives

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid skin and eye contact. Do not inhale dust. Wear
appropriate personal protective equipment (see "handling").
Solids: sweep up avoiding dust formation (wet powders with
water or use an approved industrial vacuum cleaner) and
place in suitable containers for disposal.

Liquids: absorb using an adequate absorbent (such as
kieselgur, sand, saw dust), collect and place in suitable
containers (labelled according to TRGS 201) for disposal.
Dispose of waste material in authorized incineration
facilities.

Handling and storage

geschlossene bzw. zumindest staubdichte Vorrichtungen
verwendet werden. Beim Umgang in offenen Systemen sollte
Nitrilkautschuk) und geeignete Schutzkleidung (z.B.:::)
getragen werden. Ein sicherer Augenschutz (z.B. Korbbrille)
ist unbedingt erforderlich. In unmittelbarer Nähe des
Arbeitsbereiches sollten Augenbrausen bereitgestellt und ihr
Standort auffällig gekennzeichnet werden.

Bei möglicher Staubentwicklung sollten wegen der
potentiellen Staubexplosionsgefahr potentielle Zündquellen
aus dem Arbeitsbereich entfernt werden. Des weiterenn
sollten Maßnahmen gegen elektrostatische Aufladungen
getroffen werden.

"ENGLISH"

All working procedures have to be organized in a manner that
the exposure by inhaling the substance is as low as possible
and any contact with the eyes is avoided. By filling-,
transfer-, metering and by sampling procedures closed or at
least dustproof devices should be used. By usage in

open systems possible dust should be extracted directly at
the point of origin. If technical extraction or ventilation
systems are not possible or insufficient, respiratory
protection (e.g. :::) should be worn. To avoid skin contact
proofed protective gloves (e.g. PVC or nitrile caoutchouc)
and suitable protective clothing (e.g. :::) should be worn.
Safe eye protection (e.g. safety goggles) is absolutely
required. In direct vicinity of the working place eye
showers should be provided and be labelled conspicuously. If
dust forms potential ignition sources should be removed

from the working place because of the possible danger of
dust explosions. More over that precautionary measures
against static discharges should be taken.

Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed, labelled
according to the regulations and secure containers in
adequate rooms at room temperature. The containers should be
secured against falling down. Avoid residues outside the
containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Adequate plastic containers

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Not known

Chemical reaction with water: No dangerous reaction with water

Dust explosion: Not to be expected if handled under good industrial hygiene
practices.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Normal application results in the consumption of ca. 88 %

by irreversible binding to the cellulose or cotton fibers;
recovery or recycling of the remaining test substance is

not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No suitable method known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not suitable for deposit in landfill site.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration with flue gas scrubbing.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Removal by controlled discharge to a waste water treatment
plant. It is estimated that approx. 12 % of the total
quantity used is discharged into internal industrial
effluents as highly diluted solution. A purification of

the waste water in a waste water treatment plant is
recommended. The dyestuff should be used in a well

equiped dyehouse.

If necessary the waste water can be purified prior to the
waste water treatment by membrane filtration or by
floculation with cationic agents or by treatment with ozone.
The most effective method is the membrane filtration: more
than 99 % of the remaining dyestuff can be removed from the
waste water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable
