First-aid measures
but if exposed to the dust, move to area of fresh air and
seek medical advice if signs of discomfort.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Seek medical advice without delay.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and
wash before re-use. Seek medical advice if signs of
discomfort.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention
Fire-fighting measures

Agents such as dry chemical, carbon dioxide, foams and water
spray are acceptable. If water is used, the fate of run-off
water and combustion products must be considered.
Product arising from burning: Normal combustion will lead to the formation of carbon
dioxide. Incomplete combustion (with lack of oxygen) may
lead to the formation of reduced carbon compounds.

Protective equipment: Suitable for protection against irritating substances, to
include face mask, neoprene gloves, breathing apparatus and
coveralls.
Accidental release measures
suitable labelled containers. PPE should be used as
recommended when handling the substance. Avoid the
generation of dust.
The area can be washed with water, but care should be taken
to avoid run-off into non-controlled drainage systems or
water courses.
Handling and storage
skin, eyes or in enclosed spaces, by inhalation of dust.
The substance is in powder form when dried, so care is
required to prevent generation of dust, and in common with
other organic powders, equipment should be suitably earthed
to prevent a static discharge leading to a dust explosion.
Storage: Store dry under ambient conditions. No special precautions.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Typically packed in plastic lined fibre drums, up to 25 kg.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Simple neutralisation with a weak acid would potentially
reduce the corrosive effects of the high observed pH.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance does not appear to biodegrade significantly
but is unlikely to accumulate in the environment. Controlled
discharge is not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of disposal.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance will be poorly adsorbed onto solid organic
materials. This is not a recommended method of disposal.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Landfill of low level waste is possible, as permitted by
local regulations.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
