Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: After inhalation take the patient into the fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Contamination of the eyes must be treated by thorough

irrigation with water, with the eyelids held open.

Eventually a doctor (or eye specialist) should be consulted.

Emergency measure - Skin: In the event of contact with the skin, rinse off with water

and soap.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If product is swallowed consult a doctor if necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing media:

No restriction in fire situations. Product is not

combustible. For reasons of security unsuitable

extinguishing media: none

Product arising from burning: Special risk due to the substance or the preparation itself,

its combustion products or the gas being produced: none

Protective equipment: Special protective equipment when fighting fires:

Firemen have to wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Take up spilt material mechanically avoiding formation of

dust (e. g. by previous wetting with water or by using an

approved industrial vacuum cleaner). Fill into labelled,

sealable containers. Note German Technical Rules for

Hazardous Substances No 200 and 201.

While taking up the spillage and cleaning the polluted area

avoid skin and eye contact as well as inhalation of the

substance e. g. by wearing appropriate personal protective

equipment (see section "Handling").

Handling and storage

Handling: Information on safe handling:

The powdery substance, which is practically insoluble in

water and fat, can lead to so-called "overload"-phenomena

after intake by inhalation. All working methods must

therefore always be designed so that exposure by inhalation

of the substance is minimized. Skin and eye contact with the

substance should be avoided.

As far as possible, closed, or at least dust proof,

equipment should be used during grinding, filling, transfer,

sampling as well as during spraying.

In the case of handling in open systems, any dust/ aerosol

which forms should be extracted directly at the point of

origin.

If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not

possible or are insufficient, respiratory protection (e.g.

:::) should be worn.

To avoid skin contact, the wearing of tested protective

gloves (e.g. :::) is recommended as is the wearing of eye

protection to avoid eye contact (e.g. :::).

Information on fire and explosion prevention:

none

Storage: Information on common storage:

Observe the rules contained in the VCI concept for separate/

common storage.

Requirements on storerooms and containers:

Store the substance in the original packing or other secure

containers.

Further information on storage conditions:

Keep in sealed containers in a dry place and secure them

against falling by taking the appropriate measures.

Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.

Storage class according to VCI (Association of the German

Chemical Industry): 13

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre board box (2,5-l PE-bottle à 2,5 kg)

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Product that has not been used by the purchaser (residual

quantities) and unintentionally spilled material can be

recycled and reused for its intended purpose. Product that

has been processed by the purchaser to make SOFCs is not

suitable for recycling and must be disposed of properly.

The manufacturer or importer can also take back residual

quantities, contaminated material or uncleaned empty

containers.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The material is classified as non-hazardous.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Codes: 650

Removal by controlled dumping at a licensed landfill.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Material is not combustible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: As the substance is practically insoluble in water, it will

separate out during every filtration or sedimentation

process.
