First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention.

Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with copious amounts of water. If irritation persists
or signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention.

Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary.
Emergency measure - Skin: Flush with copious amounts of water. If irritation persists
or signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention.

Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention.

Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate medium for underlying cause of fire (eg.
foam, water, powder or carbon dioxide).

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a
fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon, nitrogen and
sulphur oxides). However, there is no experimental evidence
to support the anticipated combustion products.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards as
mentioned in section ("handling").

Avoid dust formation by damping down with water. Absorb
spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material (eg
sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste
containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.
Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in
the same way as the original containers.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.

Dispose of waste material by incineration in accordance with
local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.
Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance. A hood, glovebox or process enclosure are
recommended.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;

Protective (impervious) gloves (eg. to Standard EN374)
Chemical resistant clothing (eg to Standard EN368)

Eye protection (eg to Standard EN166)

When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be
used. e.g. a dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1.

The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a
minimum.

Eye douches should be made available in the immediate
vicinity of the work area and their location should be
indicated conspicuously.

Due to the potential dust explosion risk, if dust can form,
potential ignition sources should be removed from the work
area. In addition, measures should be taken to prevent
electrostatic discharges.

In addition, all workers will be fully trained and will have
access to the material safety data sheet.

Storage: Store in tight, light-resistant containers below 40°C.
Verwendung bruchsicherer Behälter, die gegen Herabfallen zu
sichern sind.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: None which is hazardous.

Dust explosion: Under normal conditions of use this material does not
present a significant explosion hazard. However, like most
organic compounds it is combustible and may form a dust
explosion if widely dispersed in air.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and such waste
material will be disposed of by incineration. In

principle, it may be possible to recover larger spillages of
uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance is
considered hazardous to health and the environment. No
chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
hazardous properties.

The dust hazard will be minimised by appropriate handling
and storage methods.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg carbon,
sulphur and nitrogen oxides) could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly
tothe sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
adverse effects on sewage treatment systems would be
unlikely.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable
