Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air. In case of shortness of breath, give

oxygen. Call a physician immediately.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with plenty of water and consult a

specialist.

Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse with plenty of water. If skin irritaion persists

call a physician.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth and give plenty of water to drink.

Call a physician or Poison Control Centre immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In all cases of accidental release personal protective

equipment has to be worn.

Provide for adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation and

remove all sources of ignition.

Do not inhale dust. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and

clothing.

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Avoid subsoil penetration.

Moisten substance before taking up. Fill in sealable and

adequately labelled containers and dispose off in accordance

with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Inhalation of the substance as well as eye-and skin contact

should be avoided. Appropriate exhaust ventilation at

machinery and at places where dust can be generated has to

be provided. The extracted air should only be returned to

the work area after adequate cleaning using tested

equipment. If technical exhaustion- or ventilation mesasures

are insufficient or not possible respiratory protection is

required (full face mask with with particle filter P3

(EN 143)). To avoid skin contact protective gloves made out

nitrile rubber should be worn and suitable protective

clothing (e.g. disposable protective clothing for one-time

use). A safe eye protection is necessary: tightly fitting

safety goggles. After skin contact, the affected parts of

the skin should be cleaned thoroughly with water and soap,

if possible with polyethyleneglycol too. Eye douches should

be made available in the immediate vicinity of the work area

and their location should be indicated conspicuously.

Use of closed systems or at least dust protected machines

for refilling, dosing and mixing. To avoid dust explosions

any dust deposits which can not be avoided have to be taken

up regularily. Static electricity discharges have to be

avoided, eg. by grounding of containers, equipments, pumps

and exhaustion devices. Eating, drinking or smoking at the

workplace is not allowed, hands to be washed before breaks

and immediately after handling the product. Contaminated

clothing has to be changed immediately.

Storage: Store the product in a cool place and tightly closed in the

original packing drum. Ensure good room ventilation, if

necessary, local exhaust ventilation. Only release waste air

to the outside air via suitable separators or scrubbers.

Maintain storage areas according to the principles of good

industrial hygiene. Close all opened packing drums tightly

again after use. Avoid product residues on the packing

drums. Store the substance in such a way that outsiders do

not have access to it. Provide for measures for the

retention of product and extinguishing water.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Sealable plastic- or cardboard drums with inner plastic

bag (maximum 50 kg).

Stability and reactivity

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Dissolve soiled material in a suitable solvent and purify by

repeated recrystallisation.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralize with soda in case of accidental release.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration plant with flue gas purification.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: No possibility due to low amount in finished product and

chemical reaction.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: No possibilities.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Cosmetic finished products which may contain rests of the

product are disposed off with household waste.
