Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical

advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Launder

clothing before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, powder and foam may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

sulfur, hydrogen chloride gas and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Evacuate

personnel from immediate vicinity and avoid dust formation.

Absorb spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material

(eg. sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to

labelled waste containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum

machine. Clean spill site with water and detergent. Dispose

of waste material in accordance with local regulations by

incineration or landfill.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Ensure adequate ventilation. Chemical gloves to a

minimum standard of prEN374, eye protection to prEN166

standard and protective clothing to standard EN368 should be

worn. A suitable respirator may also be required.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a dry well-ventilated area.

Avoid light and foodstuffs.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25 kg packs. Double poly-bag placed inside a fibre board keg

which is placed inside a polyethylene or metal keg.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: Not anticipated.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically or technically

feasible. It may be possible to recover larger spillages of

uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material may be disposed of by landfill at an

authorised tip in accordance with local regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

facility in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed to remove oxides of sulfur and hydrogen

chloride. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
