Additional information

The substance (2E)-1-[(6-chloropyridin-3-yl)methyl]-N-nitroimidazolidin-2-imine was shown to be hydrolytically stable at pH 4 and 7 at 25 °C. Under alkaline conditions (pH 9), the dissipation half-life was found to be 240.5 days. Thus, hydrolysis is not a route of degradation under environmental conditions.

However, sunlight can be considered as the major abiotic degradation pathway in air and in the aqueous environment with the photolytical half-life of the substance being 0.85 hours and 0.76 days, respectively. In soil a half-life of 38.9 days was recorded for the target substance.
