Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediatley with water for several minutes.  Seek

medical attention (show the safety data sheet to the

doctor).

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray (not jet), alcohol resistant foam or dry powder

should be used whenever possible, but if these are

unavailable, halons may be used.  For small fires, carbon

dioxide is also suitable.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with some ammonium and titanium oxide

smoke.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Full protective equipment should be worn (impervious suit,

boots, goggles and gloves).  Contain spill with sand and

earth.  Recover by pumping or by use of a suitable absorbent

(e.g. sand, earth or sawdust).  Transfer to suitable

containers which must then be closed.  Wash spill site

thoroughly with water once material has been removed,

preventing waste water from entering drains.  Dispose of

waste material by incineration at an approved facility.

Handling and storage

Handling: Aviod contact with eyes and skin.  Plastic or rubber gogles

or safety glasses (e.g. BS2092) with side shields, and

protective gloves (e.g. PVC or rubber) should be worn.

Smoking and naked lights should be forbodden.  Consumption

of food and drink must be forbidden.

Storage: Store in closed steel drums or polyethylene intermediate

bulk containers in a cool place.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Uncontaminated split material may be recycled for re-use (no

details given)

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.  (aqueous

solutions are weakly alkaline.)

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: May be absorbed on an inert material and disposed of at a

controlled landfill site.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of disposal provided waste gas scrubbers

are fitted to remove oxides of nitrogen.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None given.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not be made available to the public at

large, except as a small component of an intentional mixture

(paint) in which the substance reacts.  Paints containing

the substance may be disposed of with domestic waste.
