Administrative data
First-aid measures
No hazards which require special first aid measures.
Inhalation:
Dust inhalation: Move to fresh air. Blow nose. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. In case of persistent problems : Consult a physician.
Skin contact:
Wash immediately, abundantly and thoroughly with water.
In the case of skin irritation or allergic reactions see a physician.
Eye contact:
Wash well-open eyes immediately, abundantly and thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, consult an ophthalmologist.
Ingestion:
In case of problems : Consult a doctor.
Protection of first-aiders:
Dusts : In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Protective suit.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Thermal decomposition giving toxic and corrosive products : Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon oxides
Advice for firefighters:
Specific methods: In case of fire nearby, remove the bags. Ensure a system for the rapid emptying of containers.
Special protective actions for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions: Do not release into the environment. Do not let product enter drains.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Recovery: Shovel into suitable container for disposal. Sweep up to prevent slipping hazard. No sparking tools should be used.
After cleaning, flush away traces with water. Recover waste water for processing later.
Handling and storage
Technical measures/Precautions:Storage and handling precautions applicable to products: Solid. DUST FORMING, forming EXPLOSIVE mixtures with air(In the presence of an ignition source). Slightly irritating. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery and at places where dust can be generated. Provide showers, eye-baths. Provide water supplies near the point of use. Provide electrical earthing of equipment.
Safe handling advice:
Prohibit all sources of sparks and ignition - Do not smoke. Avoid dust formation. In case of dust formation, wear a dust mask. Avoid accumulation of static charges during transfers in metallic systems. Avoid charging as a dust shower – risk of product flammability. Keep well away from naked flames.
Hygiene measures:
Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid breathing dust. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store under nitrogen or an atmposphere containing less than 8% oxygen. Store away from moisture and heat to maintain the technical properties of the product. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Provide earthing and safe electrical equipment. Provide impermeable floor.
Do not store above: 70 °C
Packaging material: Recommended: Polypropylene, Paper bags

Exposure controls / personal protection
Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.
Personal protective equipment: Respiratory protection:
Wear a dust mask if necessary. In the case of hazardous fumes, wear self contained breathing apparatus.
Hand protection: Protective gloves
Eye/face protection: Safety glasses
Skin and body protection: Protective suit
Stability and reactivity
The product is stable under normal handling and storage conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions:
In the presence of an ignition source: Dust may form explosive mixture in air.
Conditions to avoid:
Temperatures above 70 °C
Heat, flames and sparks. Exposure to moisture (to maintain the technical properties of the product).
Incompatible materials to avoid: No data available.
Hazardous decomposition products: Thermal decomposition:
Decomposition temperature: > 250 °C
Formation of toxic and corrosive products through combustion
Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon oxides
Further information: Product sensitive to moisture (clumping)
Disposal considerations
Disposal of packaging: Do not release into the environment. Destroy packaging by incineration at an approved waste disposal site (in accordance with local and national regulations).
