Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two studies was performed according to OECD 201 (algea) and OECD 202 (invertebrates).

The following values were obtained and considered for the classification:

short term algea: ErC50, 72 h > 100 mg/L

short term invertebrates: LC50, 48 h > 100 mg/L

long term algea: ErC10, 72 h 13.58 mg/L

Classification of short term toxicity:

Both EC50/LC50 values are above 1 mg/L. Thus the classification criteria are not met.

Classification of long term toxicity:

In the study conducted according to OECD 301B only 4 % of the test substance degradaded. Thus the substance has to be classified as not readily biodegradable.

The ErC10 value for algea does not meet the classification criteria for category 3.

For invertebrates no valid long term value is available, thus the short term value (LC50, 48 h > 100 mg/L) is taken into account for the classification with does not meet the classification criteria for category 3 neither.

According to CLP regulation a "safety net" classification should be applied for poorly soluble substances that are not biodegradable. Thus a classification in category 4 does apply.
