Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Vapor pressure is very low. Vapor inhalation under ambient
conditions is normally not a problem. If overcome by vapor
from hot product, immeidately remove from exposure and call
a physician. If breathing is irregular or has stopped, start
resuscitation; administer oxygen, if available.
Emergency measure - Eyes: If lubricant gets in eyes, flush with clear water for 15
minutes or until irritation subsides. If irritation
persists, call a physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: In case of skin contact, remove any contaminated clothing
and wash skin with soap and water. Launder clothing before
reuse. If product is injected into or under the skin, or
into any part of the body, regardless of the appearance of
the would or its size, the individual should be evaluated
immediately by a physician as a surgical emergency.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If ingested, do not induce vomiting, call a physician
immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, water spray (fog), dry chemical, or carbon dioxide may
all be suitable for extinguishing fires.
Product arising from burning: Combustion products will include small quantities of
aldehyde, ketone and oxides of carbon and nitrogen as well
as decomposition products from partial combustion.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus, gloves and goggles. The
final product may contain other additives for which greater
precautions may be appropriate.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: (Information is for preparation because thickener will never
be present alone).
Recover free product. Add sand, earth or other suitable
absorbent to spill area. Minimize skin contact. Keep product
out of sewers and water courses by diking and impounding.
Advise authorities if product has entered or may enter
sewers or watercourses, or extensive land area.
Handling and storage
Handling: Chemical resistant gloves, goggles and chemical resistant
apron or other impervious clothing are recommended to avoid
prolonged or repeated skin contact or exposure.
Storage: Store in original container in a place where leakage will
not cause discharge directly to the environment but in a
place where accidental spillage can be contained.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The package size is 181.4 kg drums

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is not considered to be suitable for recycling
.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not considered to be applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not considered to be a suitable method of disposal in view
of poor biodgradability and potential to accumulate.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method for disposal. Stack gases must be
scrubbed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not considered to be an appropriate method of disposal. The
substance will not stay in solution and is considered to
quickly adsorb onto any organic material present.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain
