Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: For the preparation: Call a physician or a poison control

center immediately. Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed

to do so by medical personnel. If vomiting occurs, the

patient should lie on their left side while vomiting to

reduce the risk of aspiration. Never give anything by mouth

to an unconscious or convulsing person.

Emergency measure - Eyes: For the preparation: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of

water. If easy to do, contact lenses should be removed

during the flushing, by trained personnel. Occasionally hold

the eyelids apart during the flushing to ensure rinsing the

entire surface of the eye and lids with water. Get medical

attention if irritation develops and persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: For the preparation: Immediately flush skin with plenty of

water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get

medical attention if symptoms occur. Wash clothing before

reuse. Thoroughly clean or destroy contaminated shoes

Emergency measure - Ingestion: For the preparation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing,

give artificial respiration. Oxygen may additionally be

given, by trained personnel, if it is available. Get medical

attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: For the preparation: CO2, dry chemical powder, dry sand,

foam. Never use water.

Product arising from burning: For the preparation: CO2, Carbon monoxide. No additional

information available.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: For the preparation: Firefighters must wear fire resistant

protective equipment. Wear approved respirator and

protective gloves.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: For the preparation:

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not allow to enter

drains or water courses. Stop leakage if possible. Eliminate

all sources of ignition, and do not generate flames or

sparks. Take precautionary measures against static

discharges. Allow controlled hydrolysis. Collect as much as

possible in a clean container for (preferable) reuse or

disposal. Cover the remainder with inert absorbent (e.g.

vermiculite) for disposal.

Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors.

Vapours may travel to a source of ignition and flash back.

Evacuate personnel to safe area.

Handling and storage

Handling: Precautions that should be taken when handeling the

preparation:

When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Do not pipet by

mouth. Do not breathe fumes/vapour. Handle in well

ventilated areas. Apply effective local ventilation.

Eliminate all sources of ignition, and do not generate

flames or sparks. Take precautionary measures against static

discharges. Apply earthing when transferring from one

container to another. Avoid contact with moisture and water.

Keep under nitrogen. Handle only in closed

system. During sampling, disconnecting lines or opening

connections, an aluminised suit should be worn. Avoid

contact with skin and eyes. Avoid Incompatible materials:

strong oxidising agents, strong alkaline and strong acid.

Water and lower alcohols.

Storage: Precautions that should be taken when storing the

preparation:

Store in accordance with local/national regulations. Keep

away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Keep under

dry nitrogen containing less than 10 ppm oxygen. Protect

product from moisture and wet air. Keep container tightly

closed and in a well-ventilated place. Keep container

upright to prevent leakage.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Proprietary airtight packaging under nitrogen blanket.

For the preparation: packaging code I

available in solution only.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: not applicable

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Contact with air or water will degrade the substance;

breakdown products will be caustic. Dilution with large

amounts of water or neutralisation with mild organic acids

may be necessary prior to attempts to absorp the substance

on e.g. sand or sawdust
