Endpoint:
viscosity
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2018
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study without detailed documentation
Justification for type of information:
In house data, viscosity is measured and reported for a large range of different temperature values.
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The test sample is heated in a heating oven to around 120 °C and subsequently loaded into a preheated rheometer (Malvern, Kinexus lab+) equipped with a cup-bob geometry (Malvern, Cup C25 cylinder DIN standard SS – Bob C25 cylinder DIN standard). The program is started and the sample is conditioned for 5 min. before measurement starts. The program is set to run from 120°C to 40°C with a shear rate of 1 s-1 and a cooling rate of 1 °C/min. The program collects data points each 20 seconds throughout the run. Log to the viscosity in Pa·s is then plotted as a function of temperature in °C, giving the viscosity curve (see attached report).
