Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A reliable water solubility study is available which shows that the substance is poorly water soluble, therefore hydrolysis tests are not feasible and have been waived on this basis.

Ready biodegradability

The substance is inorganic, therefore biodegradation is not relevant and such studies may therefore be waived under REACH.

Adsorption / desorption

An absorption / desorption screening study is not technically feasible for the substance and has therefore been waived. Testing of adsorption/desorption behaviour according to OECD Guideline 121 is not feasible, given that the test method is not validated for inorganic substances. A batch equilibrium study according to OECD Guideline 106 was not conducted, since quantitative analysis of the test material (magnesium potassium fluoride silicate) is not expected to be possible due to interference of naturally occurring silicates from the soil extracts that may leach into the aqueous media during the test. Furthermore, the substance is chemically inert, thus such testing is considered unnecessary.
