Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with eyewash or water for at least 10 minutes. Obtain

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water. If irritation develops, seek medical

attention. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before

re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water mist, foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

sulfur, together with soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, (cf 2.3.1.). Evacuate

personnel from immediate vicinity. Absorb spillages of

solutions with a suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil).

Carefully transfer the spillage to labelled waste

containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local

regulations by incineration or landfill. Wash spill area

with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Appropriate personal protective equipment should

be worn, such as chemical protective gloves (pr EN374), eye

protection (pr EN166), a face shield and protective clothing

(standard EN368). Suitable respiratory protection may also

be required. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Storage: Store in sealed containers at ambient temperature. Avoid

sources of ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 20 kg fibreboard kegs.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not

economically or technically feasible.

It may be possible to recover larger spillages of

uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by

landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local

regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed to remove oxides of sulfur. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
