Executive summary:

This study was performed according to OECD 103 resp.EU A.2 in order to determine the boiling point of the test item.

The boiling point study of the test item was performed with the Siwoloboffmethod.

In the pre-tests strong reaction of the test item during heating up was observed, indicated by strong pulsating of the test item ending up in superheating.

For safety reason no further test was performed as strong superheating is a high risk for the involved persons.

Signs for beginning boiling were observed since 121 °C (lowest value); because of the pulsating and the following superheating no boiling chain could be observed. The observed pulsating with following superheating may indicate a dissociate process.

Therefore the determination of the boiling point is not possible because of decomposition of the test item before the boiling point is reached.

Beginning decomposition of the item should be stated as 130 °C under these circumstances.

These values are the result of two independent Pre-tests.

 According to the requirements following REACH, Annex VII, 7.3 “Boiling Point” the third point, the boiling point study has not to be conducted for substances which decompose before boiling. Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid.
