Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point

The temperature of the sample did not reached 400°C by increasing the temperature of the oven to 160°C (melting point of the test item) and therefore no relative self-ignition temperature was measured.

The wire mesh cube and the test item were visually checked after the determination. The test item was degraded at the end of the measurement (greyish block).

Conclusions:
No relative self-ignition was recorded for the test item as no ignition occurred up to 160°C (oven temperature).
