(N-Morpholinomethyl)triethoxysilane was investigated for its ready biodegradability in water in a manometric respiratiory test over a period of 28 days (OECD Guideline 301 F). The biodegradation was followed by the oxygen uptake of the micro-organisms during exposure. From results of the toxicity control it can be assumed that the test item is not inhibitory on the activated sludge micro organisms.The positive control with sodium benzoate worked as expected. The test item Silan 449029 VP is considered not to be readily biodegradable. The same could be assumed for sediment and soil. Based on the low RCRs for water, sediment and soil, the need for further experiments was negated.
