Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The surface tension was determined in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 115 and EU method A.5 without deviations on the registered substance itself. Hence, there is no indication given that the results are not reliable. Surface tension (arithmetic mean corrected by calibration factor determined via water calibration) was determined to 37.8 mN/m ≤ST ≤ 41.2 mN/m. As the determined surface tension of the test item was lower than 60 mN/m, the test item can be classified as surface active.
- Executive summary:
The surface tension of the test item Amine neutralized phosphoric acid butyl esters was determined in accordance with the test method A.5. "Surface Tension" as described in the Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 laying down test methods pursuant Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), also similar to OECD guideline for testing of chemicals OECD 115, under GLP, using the ring method. The test item Amine neutralized phosphoric acid butyl esters (concentration = 1 g/l) has a surface tension (ST) of 37.8 mN/m ≤ST ≤ 41.2 mN/m
