Description of key information

The solubility of aluminium vanadium tetraoxide in water based on measured dissolved Al and V concentrations of 377 ± 34 µg Al/L and 3605 ± 164.2 µg V/L, respectively, at pH 4.6 and 20°C after 37 days was calculated with 10.04 mg/L.

Under the applied experimental conditions of the water solubility test according to OECD 105 (exclusion of CO2 and O2, inert argon gas, flask method, 100 mg/L loading), a solubility equilibrium and mean dissolved Al and V concentrations of 377 ± 34 µg Al/L and 3605 ± 164.2 µg V/L were observed after 35 -37 days. Based on mean dissolved V concentrations as measured on day 35, 36 and 37, the calculated water solubility of aluminium vanadium tetraoxide corresponds to 10.04 ± 0.46 mg/L at pH 4.6.
