Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex VII, column 2 provides the following specific rules for adaptation of the standard information requirement for boiling point: ‘The study does not need to be conducted:
A. for gases; or
B. for solids which either melt above 300 °C or decompose before boiling. In such cases the boiling point under reduced pressure may be estimated or measured; or
C. for substances which decompose before boiling (e.g. auto-oxidation, rearrangement, degradation, decomposition, etc.).

Additionally, other information include the melting point test (following guideline EU Method A.1 (DSC)), results showed that the melting point of the substance at 278.2°C. Further to this the it was also observed that the substance decomposes above this temperature 278.2°C-337°C.

Description of key information

Substance was shown to decompose before boiling at 278.2°C to 337°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
278.2 °C
