First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

In case of inhalation: Provide fresh air. Gargle with water.

Following skin contact: Remove mechanically with cloth or paper.

Wash with generous amount of water and soap.

After eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids

apart. In case of troubles or persistent symptoms, consult an opthalmologist.

After swallowing: Rinse mouth with water.

Never give an unconscious person anything through the mouth.

Consult physician immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

In case of inhalation: Inhalation of dust may cause irritation of the respiratory system.

After eye contact: Dust contact with the eyes can lead to mechanical irritation.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media:

Foam, extinguishing powder, water fog, carbon dioxide.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:

High power water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Danger of dust explosion.

Thermal breakdown of this product during fire or very high heat condition may evolve the

following hazardous decomposition products: silicon dioxide, traces of incompletely

burned carbon compounds, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

In case of leakage, eliminate all ignition sources. Avoid generation of dust. Avoid contact

with skin and eyes. Do not breathe dust. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate

protective equipment.

Environmental precautions

Do not allow to penetrate into soil, waterbodies or drains.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advices on safe handling: When not in use, keep containers tightly closed.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate protective equipment.

Avoid generation of dust. Do not breathe dust.

Provide for good room ventilation, suctioning/venting.

Precautions against fire and explosion:

Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storerooms and containers:

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames.

Store containers in upright position. Do not drop, drag or bang the container.

Handle empty containers with care. Incineration may cause explosion.

Do not re-use the empty container. Do not weld.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters

Additional information: Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

Exposure controls

Provide for good room ventilation, suctioning/venting.

Personal protection equipment

Occupational exposure controls

Respiratory protection: With the formation of dust, use a dust mask.

Hand protection: Protective gloves according to EN 374.

Glove material: Plastic or rubber

Breakthrough time: >480 min.

Observe glove manufacturer's instructions concerning penetrability and breakthrough time.

Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles according to EN 166.

Body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.

General protection and hygiene measures:

Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames.

Change contaminated clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Avoid generation of dust. Do not breathe dust.

Wash hands before breaks and after work. Gargle with water. Eye wash facility must be provided.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

Dust may form explosive mixtures with air.

Conditions to avoid

Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames.

Incompatible materials

Strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products

Thermal breakdown of this product during fire or very high heat condition may evolve the following hazardous decomposition products: silicon dioxide, traces of incompletely burned carbon compounds, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Thermal decomposition: No data available

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Product

Waste key number: 07 02 17 = waste containing silicones

Recommendation: Incinerate as hazardous waste according to applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Contaminated packaging

Waste key number: 15 01 04 = Metallic packaging or 150102 = Plastic packaging

Recommendation: Handle empty containers with care. Incineration may cause explosion.

Residual substance emptied and rinsed clean. Do not re-use the empty container.

Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.
