Description of key information

With the read across chemical, ethane-1,2-diylbis(oxyethane-2,1-diyl) bis(2-ethylhexanoate) (CAS No. 94 -28 -2), and following a preliminary screening test, three groups, each of five animals, were treated with 50 μl (25 μl per ear) of the undiluted test material or the test material as solution in acetone/olive oil 4:1 at concentrations of 25% or 50% v/v. A further group of 5 animals was treated with acetone/olive oil 4:1 alone. The stimulation index expressed as the mean radioactive incorporation for each treatment group divided by the mean radioactive incorporation of the vehicle control group was 2.33, 1.94 and 2.97 for the 25, 50 and 100% solutions. All test groups were therefore negative for sensitization.
