Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Solubiities at 20°C were found as follows:

29 mg/L with a loading rate of 0.1 g/L at pH 7.2

65 mg/L with a loading rate of 0.5 g/L at pH 6.9

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination was carried out by flask method according to OECD Guideline 105.

The test item is a complex mixture. Every constituent contributes to a different degree to overall solubility, depending on its own individual solubility and its mass fraction in the test item. The water solubility was therefore investigated via determination of dissolved amounts of carbon, chromium, and nitrogen, the main elements contained in the test item.

Different sample weights (different amounts of surplus) were applied (each about 0.1 g/L and 0.5 g/L) to investigate whether fractions of different solubility are existent (partial solubility).

The different results show that the water solubility of the test item is dependent on the analytical method and the loading rate. Since the values quantified by Cr content are a range between values by TOC and values by N content therefore the solubilities by Cr content can be considered suitable for use this endpoint.
