Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: EU method A.16
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Test procedure:
other: screening test
Result:
negative outcome (no effect observed)

No significant exothermic effect was observed during heating up to 400 °C.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
Macrolex Fluoreszenzrot G is not liable to self-heating.
Executive summary:

As screening test the result from the determination of the relative self-ignition temperature was used.

The study was conducted in accordance with EU test method A.16. Macrolex Fluoreszenrot G was placed in a wire basket with 8 mL volume in an oven at room temperature. The oven was heated up with a rate of 0.5 k/min up to 400 °C. The temperature of the center of the sample and the temperature of an inert reference sample, which was also placed in the oven, were recorded.

As no exothermic effect was observed, it can be concluded Macrolex Flureszenzrot G is not liable to self-heating.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids)
Version / remarks:
The test was performed as stipulated in UN-MTC procedure Test N.1 and in EC A.10, Guideline EC 440/2008
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
0 s
Remarks on result:
other: The test substance melted on approach of the ignition source. No burning of the test substance was observed.

A preliminary screening test was performed to determine if propagation by burning with flame or smoldering occurs without wetted zone. The substance was formed into a powder train about 250 mm long by about 20 mm wide by about 10 mm high on a non-combustile, non-porous and low heat-conducting base plate. If propagation over 200 mm of the train occurs within a specified time tehn teh full test program to determine the burning rate is carried out. The test substance melted on approach of teh ignition source. No burning of the test substance was observed.

The performance of the full test was not necessary.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
Macrolex Fluoreszenzrot G does not meet the GHS criteria and is therefore not classified as flammable solid based on GHS criteria. It is not readily combustible.
Executive summary:

The flammability of Macrolex Fluoreszenzrot G was investigated according to UN-MTC procedure test N.1 and EC A.10, Guideline EC440/2008. The substance melted on approach of the ignition source. No burning was observed. Thus, the performance of the full test was not considered necessary (BTS 2017). Macrolex Fluoreszenzrot G does not meet the GHS criteria and is therefore not classified as flammable solid. It is not readily combustible.

Description of key information

Macrolex Fluoreszenzrot G does not meet the GHS criteria and is therefore not classified as flammable solid based on GHS criteria. It is not readily combustible.
