Conclusions:

Description of key information

The flammability of gadolinium oxalate was investigated according to the UN N.1 test method in agreement with GLP (Klimisch 1, Demangel, 2016). Based on the negative result, the test item is not classified as a flammable solid. This study was assigned as key study.

Further, based on experience in day-to-day handling and use, the test item can be concluded not to be pyrophoric and not to emit flammable gases in contact with water. Finally, no signs of self-heating have been observed in a test performed according to the EU A.16 guideline (Klimisch 1, Demangel, 2016). The substance can therefore safely be concluded not to be classified as self-heating.

Justification for classification or non-classification
