Description of key information

Substances with an extreme pH (≤ 2 or ≥ 11.5) may represent a potential corrosion hazard for the skin (DBU = pH 12.6). The corrosive potential of DBU was also evaluated using a membrane-barrier test method (Corrositex assay).

The test determined an average crossing time of 20 minutes (calculated on 6 replications) and a substance pH of 14.

Scientifically not necessary study. Substances with an extreme pH (≤ 2 or ≥ 11.5) may produce severe ocular lesions (DBU = pH 12.6).

In addition, corrosive substances for the skin are considered to be capable of causing serious eye damage.
