Pre-Test for Security

Formation of bubbles was observed at 218 °C. At approximately 200 °C, the test item started to crackle and sizzle.

The flash point is given as the mean value of the duplicate determination. The measured flash point is therefore 55.5 ± 1.0 °C (corresponding to 328.7 ± 1.0 K).

 

The difference between the two values, which were used for calculation, was ≤ 2 K. For this reason, the determination was considered valid.

Executive summary:

Note that the result obtained on this kind of substance should be largely influence by small amounts of volatile constituents.
