The results of the definitive boiling point determinations on the test substance were as follows:

Barometric pressure: 1023 mbar

As the boiling tubes were heated at 1°C/minute, the samples were observed to darken from approximately 150ºC, indicating decomposition. When heating was continued beyond this temperature in the preliminary test, the decomposed sample was observed to boil at approximately 200°C.

Conclusions:
Under the conditions of the study, the boiling temperature of the test substance was not determinable, as the test item decomposed at temperatures above approximately 150°C before boiling.
Executive summary:

The boiling temperature of the test substance was examined by the Siwoloboff method ( EC Method A.2, OECD Method 103) under GLP.

A boiling tube (3.2 mm diameter) was filled to a height of 5 to 10 mm with the sample and a boiling capillary was immersed, open end first. The boiling tube containing the sample and the boiling capillary was inserted into the sample holder, and observations recorded as the temperature was raised.

A preliminary determination was made initially at a heating rate of 10°C/minute to estimate the boiling point of the substance, followed by definitive determinations at 1°C/minute.

As the boiling tubes were heated at 1°C/minute, the samples were observed to darken from approximately 150ºC, indicating decomposition. When heating was continued beyond this temperature in the preliminary test, the decomposed sample was observed to boil at approximately 200°C.
