Evaluation and Result

The flash point is given as the mean value of the duplicate determination. The measured flash point is therefore 45.5 ± 0.5°C (corresponding to 318.7 ± 0.5 K) at 101325 Pa.

Discussion

The difference between the two values which were measured was below 2°C. For this reason, the determination was considered valid.

Interpretation of results:
Category 3 (flammable liquids) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The flash point is therefore 45.5 ± 0.5 °C (corresponding to 318.7 ± 0.5 K) at 101325 Pa.
Executive summary:

The flash point of the test substance was determined under GLP according to EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point), using a non-equilibrium closed cup and electrical ignition method (ISO2719 -Part B).

The flashpoint of the test item is stated as 45.5 ± 0.5 °C (318.7 ± 0.5 K) at 101325 Pa (mean value of two independent determinations).

Description of key information

The substance is classified as a FLAMMABLE LIQUID Category 3 according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP criteria).

and UN Globally Harmonized System (GHS criteria).

Note that the result obtained on this kind of substance should be largely influence by small amounts of volatile constituents.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
45.5 °C

Additional information

The flash point of the test substance was determined under GLP according toEU Method A.9 (Flash-Point), using a non-equilibrium closed cup method (ISO2719 -Part B). It is considered as a key study. The result is retained as key data for purpose of CSA.

This study is relevant for the classification regarding flammable properties.
