EC number: 202-945-6 | CAS number: 101-48-4
Acute toxicity studies evaluating the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are available for three different trophic levels. All studies were performed according to international guidelines and GLP. Freshwater algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) turned out to be the most sensitive species with an ErC50 (72 h) of 81.3 mg/L and ErC10 (72 h) of 68.7 mg/L based on inhibition of growth followed by Daphnia magna with an EC50 (48 h) of >100 mg/L and Danio rerio with a LC50 (96 h) >100 mg/L. The substance did not cause inhibition of biodegradation in the toxicity control of a biodegradation study according to OECD 301D with activated sludge from a sewage treatment plant. Thus, significant inhibition of the subsequent degradation process in sewage treatment plants is not expected. Based on the result of the toxicity control a NOEC (28 d) of ≥2.9 mg/L was derived.
