Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: not classified
Conclusions:
The LD50 was considered to be 7200 mg/kg bw when rats were treated with Sodium xylenesulphonate (CAS no. 1300-72-2) by dermal application.
Executive summary:

Acute dermal toxicity study was done in rats using test material Sodium xylenesulphonate (CAS no. 1300-72-2). 50% Mortality was observed at dose 7200 mg/kg bw.Clinical signs like Erythema with additional desquamation was observed. At necropsy, focal or multifocal red discoloration and desquamation of the treated skin were noted .Hence, LD50 was considered to be7200mg/kg body weight when rat was treated with Sodium xylenesulphonate (CAS no. 1300-72-2) by dermal application.
