Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: Not Classified
Conclusions:
In rats, the lethal dose for oral administration of 6-amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid was considered to be > 5000 mg/kg bw.
Executive summary:

In Acute oral toxicity test, Ten male Wistar-rats were administered orally with the dose of 5000 mg/kg bw of 6-amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid (gamma acid), dry and ground, formulated in water and all the animals were observed for p 14 days, all animals were survived on single oral administration of >5000 mg/kg bw. No clinical signs were observed.Hence the lethal dose concentration (LD50) was considered to be >5000mg/kg bw. When rats were treated with 6-amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid (90 -51 -7) orally.
