Description of key information

Ready biodegradability study does not need to be conducted since the substance is inorganic (Annex VII REACH). In addition, biodegradation of fluoride can occur under anaerobic conditions, both under natural conditions and as a controlled process in many wastewater treatment plants, resulting in degradation products like magnesium oxide, fluoride or hydrogen fluoride (EHC 227, 2002; Donald R. Messier, 1965).
